Suicide Facts


Research has shown that more than 90% of people who kill themselves
     have depression or another diagnosable mental or substance
     abuse disorder.

Research indicates that alterations in neurotransmitters such as serotnin
     are associated with the risk for suicide

MYTH -  There are more suicides during the winter holidays.
FACT -  Suicide rates in the US are lowest in the winter and highest
               in the spring.
